The third and last phase of Gram Panchayat elections in Hyderabad saw Congress-backed candidates continue their winning run. They secured 6,476 Sarpanch posts. BRS supported nominees won 3,347 posts. BJP-backed candidates took 651, while Independents and others won 1,555 posts. Voting was peaceful with only minor clashes between Congress and BRS cadres in some districts. The State Election Commission (TGSEC) notified 12,728 Sarpanch posts and 112,242 Ward Member posts. Elections happened in three phases: December 11, 14, and 17. A total of 1,204 Sarpanch and 25,551 Ward Members were elected without opposition. According to the SEC, the final phase had 85.77% polling, with about 43.37 lakh voters casting ballots from the total electorate of 50.56 lakh in 31 districts. Yadadri Bhuvanagiri led with 92.56% turnout, Medak had 90.68%, and Suryapet recorded 89.25% turnout. Vote counting will continue late into the night.
