Bomb Threat Emails to 10 Ahmedabad Schools Turn Out to Be Hoax
December 17, 2025
On November 17, 2025, ten private schools in Ahmedabad received emails threatening bomb blasts. These schools shut down their afternoon shifts as a safety measure, since the morning classes had already ended. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1, Harshad Patel, said the emails had the same message claiming bombs would go off in the afternoon. Police, including bomb detection squads, dog squads, and anti-sabotage teams, searched the schools thoroughly but found nothing suspicious. DCP Patel told reporters, "In the email sent to the schools, it was claimed that bomb blasts will be carried out in these establishments during the afternoon. As a precautionary measure, these schools declared a holiday for the afternoon shift as the morning shift was already over." He added, "Our teams reached the schools and conducted a thorough search. However, nothing suspicious was found. Cybercrime teams are now investigating the source of these emails and who was behind them." The exact email content is not being shared to protect the ongoing investigation.
