On December 16, 2025, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) took steps to raise awareness about its advance ticket booking on WhatsApp. The service, available in Telugu and English, can be accessed by messaging "Hi" to 95523 00009 (’Mana Mitra’). Executive Director (Operations) A. Appala Raju instructed district officers to promote this facility aggressively. They must display banners and stickers at bus stations and inside buses, make announcements, and publicise the service widely. Passengers can book tickets by saving the number on WhatsApp or scanning a QR code. After sending "Hi," users select "Choose Service," then "APSRTC Services," followed by "Ticket Booking." They enter travel details, passenger info, pay online, and get the confirmed ticket on WhatsApp. APSRTC also offers booking through platforms like RedBus, AbhiBus, Paytm, and ATB agents. However, WhatsApp bookings remain low due to poor awareness. The new campaign aims to change this by spreading the word about this easy and quick booking option.
