The fifth Beypore International Water Festival is set for December 26 to 28 across six locations in and around Beypore, Kozhikode. The festival will light up the city with water adventures, beach sports, and a dazzling kite festival. An exciting cycle rally from Kozhikode to Beypore will kick off the celebrations on December 25, followed by a marathon from Chaliyam to Beypore on December 28. Competitions in kabaddi, beach football, and beach volleyball are scheduled for December 22, 23, and 24 ahead of the main event. A thrilling chess competition, plus lively demonstrations of kalaripayattu, karate, and other martial arts will also excite spectators. The kite festival will see contestants from five countries take part, promising colorful skies and friendly competition. Alongside sports, cultural programs will showcase cinematic dance, comedy skits, folk music, Oppana, Thiruvathirakkali, and Kolkali, featuring talents from resident associations and Kudumbasree groups. Performers including winners of various arts festivals, differently-abled students, music schools, elder clubs, and local theatre will entertain crowds at venues like Chaliyam, Nallur, Ramanattukara, and Feroke. A magic show will add a dash of wonder. On the water, action-packed adventure sports like kayaking, sailing, dragon boat and country boat races, surfing, stand-up paddling, jet skiing, and flyboarding will take center stage at Beypore from December 26 to 28. The Navy will also present a special exhibition of ships and technology. This vibrant festival brings together sports, culture, and community spirit, promising three days of joy and excitement for locals and visitors alike.
