The East Coast Railway (ECoR) will operate special trains between Visakhapatnam and SMVT Bengaluru to manage the festival season passenger surge. Train number 08501 will depart from Visakhapatnam on December 15 at 3:20 p.m. and reach SMVT Bengaluru on December 16 at 12:45 p.m. The return train, number 08502, leaves SMVT Bengaluru on December 16 at 3:50 p.m., arriving in Visakhapatnam on December 17 at 1:30 p.m. K. Pavan Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair, confirmed these schedules. Each special train will have 20 coaches: 1 second AC, 2 third AC, 12 sleepers, 3 general class, and 2 second-class luggage cum brake vans. The trains will stop at Anakapalli, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Bangarpet, and Krishnarajapuram. These additional services aim to clear the extra rush during the festive period and offer more travel options to passengers.
